BC Solutions Event – Critical issues affecting seniors

CCPA_BC_20th-blue_email.png

Join us to hear about two of our most-recent reports, which focus on economic insecurity among seniors and how it is compounded by the crisis in seniors care in BC by Senior Economist Iglika Ivanova and Research Associate Andrew Longhurst.

Andrew will present his study released in March that finds underfunding, privatization and fragmentation of the home and community care system have left many seniors, their families and communities patching together care and even going without. Then Iglika will discuss her report released last week, which finds alarming levels of poverty and economic insecurity among seniors, that we rarely hear about because they are masked by large income and wealth inequalities. Both Andrew and Iglika will also talk about solutions and outline more-effective ways government policy can support vulnerable members of our community as they age. There will also be time for you to ask them questions.

This event is for CCPA supporters like you, but please feel welcome to bring friends and family members who might be interested in our work. We hope you can join us and other members of our CCPA community at this special gathering. Please RSVP below.

Doors open at 5:00 PM. Presentation begins at 5:30 PM, followed by a discussion. Event ends at 6:30 PM.
